UNEP(DEPI)/CAR IG.25/INF.4
Guidelines to Prevent Species from becoming Endangered or Threatened
(English only) IG25-inf4en.doc
This is a 56-page draft guideline was produced by Barbara Lausche for a consortium of NGOs involving the Humane Society of the US Wildlife Land Trust, Island Resources Foundation, and Monitor Caribbean.
This guideline is really a synthetic masterpiece, bringing together
a vast amount of current international and small island conservation
planning information, which can be used by national planners to build
a pro-active plan for protecting island species and habitats from current
and projected hazards and threats. As a major policy document of the
SPAW, this guideline has years of review and possible modification,
but as an essential REFERENCE WORK for environmental resource managers
and planners of Caribbean islands, the draft available on-line from
the CEP web site is already an important resource.
