CEP/UNEP Serving as New Secretariat
While there will still be a very committed executive council, as well as core thematic chairs working to implement WW2BW’s strategic plan, the day to day coordination and support for WW2BW is now being done through the Caribbean Environment Programme in Kingston, Jamaica and with the financial support of SIDA. CEP’s leadership is fitting given its on-going programmes with IWCAM, SPAW, CETI and other critical environmental initiatives in the region and given its links with most WW2BW partners. CEP also sees a supportive role for its RACs to play in supporting WW2BW and in outreach with new partnerships. Another major contribution that CEP will bring to WW2BW in the future, is the provision of WW2BW’s services in Spanish and French, as well as English. This new configuration of the WW2BW website is CEP’s first step enhancing secretariat support to WW2BW and will now be done on a sustained basis through the services of a full-time, in-house, webmaster.
